At Passionate we are privileged to work with some remarkable people.
Our PR clients are making a genuine difference - from Tracy Marsh, the dynamic fundraising boss at Compton Hospice, to Andy Evans the inspirational director of the multi award-winning EDS Couriers.
But there's more to our PR work than the column inches and media buzz we create for our clients. From its very beginning, Passionate Media has been committed to our local community and has supported a number of organisations doing fantastic work with people of all ages.
This comes from a background in voluntary and charity work, including tutoring on adult literacy schemes, volunteering with disabled youngsters in the UK and France and regional PR support for Save the Children.
It has been very important to us to promote opportunities for our clients to support excellent local causes. We raised £600 at our launch party for Promise Dreams and have worked with a number of our clients, including Cousins furniture stores, who raised £10,000 in one day to raise money for the charity.
We were also delighted to introduce two of our Staffordshire based clients to The Donna Louise Trust, resulting in sponsorship of tens of thousands of pounds and on-going relationships to further boost this wonderful facility.
Our PR expertise has been put to use in workshops and talks for varied groups such as the National Association of Hospice Fundraisers to the West Midlands IT Association and Tamba, the Twins and Multiple Births Association. We are proud to have a long-standing connection with Tamba, which goes back to the days when Linda's twin daughters were babes in arms.
We also became sponsors of Cannock boy Jamie-Ray Hartshorne, who is hoping for stardom after councillors said they are unable to award him a £1,000 grant towards his accommodation costs at a top theatre school.
We stepped in to pledge to support Jamie financially. We are delighted to report that Jamie's career has so far gone from strength to strength with appearances in various TV programmes (for example, A Bear's Tale) and in the West End (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). Please see our news section for the latest headlines from these groups.
Other groups which have benefited from our 'pro-bono' PR activities include: Wolverhampton Civic Choir, Burntwood scouts and Rosie's Helping Hands, a fund set up in memory of a schoolgirl stabbed to death in Birmingham city centre.
If you are a community group interested in publicity - please get in touch. We can't promise to be able to respond immediately, but if we can help, we will.
We were the driving force behind a women's business networking group in Cannock called Wings, which is supported by the local Chamber of Commerce and has generated a significant amount of business for its members. Carol Garrington is the co-founder of this group.
We are also members of the Villiers Chapter of Business Network International, which meets each Thursday morning at Wolverhampton Lawn and Tennis Club in Newbridge, Wolverhampton. The attraction for us was the motto of 'Givers' Gain.'
